From January 29 thru February 4, Sacred Heart School celebrated national Catholic Schools Week. This is the time each year we honor the role of Catholic education in our parish, our community, and our nation.

Sacred Heart School is pleased to share some before and after pictures in regard to our recent window replacement project. In addition to an updated look, Sacred Heart School will realize substantial energy savings due to the new, energy-efficient windows.

MEAP Scores

MEAP scores show Diocesan Catholic Schools, including Sacred Heart School, excel academically. The Michigan Department of Education recently released results of the 2010 Michigan Assessment Program (MEAP) tests, and the results show that students attending Catholic schools in the Diocese of Marquette in third through eighth grade exceeded the statewide scores for all of Michigan’s schools in all 17 subjects tested. Fire Prevention Week

K and 1st graders listen to Mr. Jorgenson as he explains the different tools that firefighters use, on a field trip to the fire hall during Fire Prevention Week.

International Adoration and Prayer Service

Students from Sacred Heart School took part in an International Adoration prayer service in the side chapel at Sacred Heart Church. It was great!

Bike-A-Thon 2011

Tour de L’Anse – And they’re off! Sacred Heart School students pedaled to raise money for their school in the yearly Bike-a-Thon. Many miles were logged on a beautiful October day at Meadowbrook Arena. Parents, grandparents, teachers, and alumni were all present to cheer on the students. Hot dogs and goodies were provided by the Home & School. Thanks to them and all the businesses who donated prizes.
