Dr. Eric Grekowicz, Principal, Fifth and Sixth Grades

Eric Grekowicz, PhD, Principal, Fifth and Sixth Grades

My name is Dr. Eric Grekowicz, and, as the new principal of your school, I hope to bring some additional energy to Sacred Heart School.  My PhD is in English, and I have 20 years of experience teaching at university level.  I also taught K-6 grades when my family and I lived in the Los Angeles area.  During my career thus far, I have been a professor, academic program director, and dean.  For the past two years, I have been pursuing a vocation to the Dominican Order, which has historically been one of the main teaching arms of the Church.  I was received into the Order a year ago.

I grew up in Livonia, graduating from Winston Churchill High School.  My college education consists of course work at Jackson Community College in Jackson, MI and Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, MI. I moved to L’Anse after marrying Dennis Brogan where we have made our home for the past 41 years. We have 3 grown children (all attended Sacred Heart School in the 1970s and 1980s).  We also have 7 wonderful grand children.  I served on the Sacred Heart School Board years ago, as well as volunteered as the school librarian from 1982-1986. Being back at Sacred Heart School feels like “coming home”.
